Gender, Sexuality, and Media (Upper Level) 2020

Taught a Communication and Media Arts course for upper-level undergraduates interested in gender, sexuality, and media, tackling topics such as online dating stereotyping, fandom communities, media archetypes, and more. Developed syllabus, lectured, facilitated discussion, evaluated student learning, and mentored students on their qualitative research projects.

Digital Cultures (Upper Level) 2018-Present

Taught five Communication and Media Arts courses for upper-level undergraduates interested in human behavior and digital media, tackling topics such as online dating strategies, community behavior on Facebook, how social users manage privacy, etc. Developed syllabus, lectured, facilitated discussion, evaluated student learning, and mentored students on their qualitative research projects.

Global Media Studies (Upper Level) 2018-Present

Taught four Communication and Media Arts courses for upper level undergraduates interested in a comparative approach to the cultural, political, and economic aspects of globalization as they relate to media. Developed syllabus, lectured, facilitated discussion, evaluated student learning, and mentored students on their qualitative research projects.

Capstone in Digital Communication, Information, and Media (Upper Level) 2018

Taught a Communication Studies course required for all upper level students with the Digital Communication, Information, and Media minor that develops thesis projects and professional portfolios for the job market. Advised students on their applied research projects, lectured, facilitated discussion, and evaluated student learning.

Introduction to Communication and Information (Lower Level) 2015-2018

Assisted four courses required for freshmen at Rutgers University that introduces students to interpersonal, group, organizational, speech, mass, intercultural, and international communication, as well as public relations and advertising. Instructed students one-on-one how to write at the college level, managed in-class activities, and evaluated student learning.

Persuasive Communication (Upper Level) 2017

Assisted one course for upper level students in Communication Studies on the study and application of principles and practices of persuasion. Developed lecture materials (including PowerPoints, videos, test questions and handouts) and evaluated student learning.

Mediated Communication (Upper Level) 2014-2015

Assisted two courses for upper level students in Communication Studies interested in engaging the core theories in the field to better understand how media is integrated into our every day relationships, social contexts and behavior. Led review sessions, managed in-class activities, and evaluated student learning.
